In a pocket in my travel vest there are a dozen or so unused boarding passes acquired during my 37-hour odyssey to Ma’s home near Waupaca from my home near Vilcabamba. As a result of delayed flights, I was rescheduled a few times and more than once on two of the four. As a result, I’d not get to Waupaca in time for lunch at the Woods Restaurant as they closed at three yesterday. Pulling into Ma’s driveway on the way back from the Appleton airport late yesterday afternoon, I spotted two boxes on the front deck - an expected one from Amazon and an unexpected one from ‘Idaho Potatoes.’ Turns out the box of potatoes was full of carryout containers filled with food dropped off by Dan on his way home from the Woods. That is a friend. Awesome! Marsha!
